Integumentary System   the organ system that protects the body from various kinds of damage, such as loss of water or abrasion from outside. The system comprises the skin and its appendages (including hair, scales, feathers, hooves, and nails).

Skeletal System   performs vital functions — support, movement, protection, blood cell production, calcium storage and endocrine regulation — that enable us to survive. (consists of 206 bones, as well as a network of tendons, ligaments and cartilage that connects them)

Muscular System   responsible for the movement of the human body.

Plant adaptations for protection/defense   an intact and impenetrable barrier composed of bark and a waxy cuticle/hard shells, thorns (modified branches), and spines (modified leaves).

Animal defenses from illness & injury   by constantly facing attacks from foreign invaders that can cause infection and disease, the body has a number of external and internal safeguards that prevent most dangerous invaders from entering and causing harm.
