What happened in June 1755?   Braddock marches from Virginia with 1,400 red-coated British troops and a few blue-coated Colonial militias. They are marching to Fort Duquesne.

How long did it take Braddock's army to march to its destination?   Several weeks, because the troops marched in tight columns and row so it was hard to march through the dense forest, and because they always stopped for tea.

July 9, 1755   French troops and Native American warriors ambushed Braddock's troops from behind trees. The British panicked, because they couldn't see who was attacking them. Almost 1,000 British soldiers died, including General Braddock.

What happened in 1758?   Amherst and Wolfe recapture fortress at Louisbourg. That same year, British officers capture Fort Frontenac at Lake Ontario and recaptured Fort Duquesne (renaming it Fort Pitt).

What happened September 1759?   James Wolfe's scouts found a poorly guarded path to the fort at New France's Capital, Quebec. They defeated the guards and waited in the Plains of Abraham. They then attacked the fort, and defeated the French. However, James Wolfe died in battle.
