Lovenox (Enoxaparin)   Anticoagulant; Used to prevent DVT and pulmonary emboli. Do not use with anticoagulants, antiplatelets, or NSAIDs. Assess for hemorrhage, blood abnormalities, and neurosymptoms.

Penicillin   Anti-infective; Used to treat respiratory tract infections, scarlet fever, pneumonia, gonorrhea, other bacterial infections. Avoid using aspirin, heparin, and contraceptives. Assess for infection

Digoxin   Inotropic antidysrhythmic; Decreases heart rate, increases force of contraction. avoid using antacids, antidysrhythmics, and diuretics. Assess apical pulse.

Tylenol (Acetominophen)   Nonopioid analgesic; Decreases pain and fever. Avoid barbiturates and NSAIDs. Assess liver and renal function.

Voltaren Ophthalmic   NSAID, Nonopioid analgesic; Decreases pain and inflammation. Avoid aspirin, anticoagulants, NSAIDs. Assess pain.

Zoloft (Sertaline)   Antidepressant; Relieves depression, OCD, PTSD, and panic disorder. Avoid anticoagulants, NSAIDs, Antidepressants, and Thrombolytics. Assess mental status.

Tuberculin   Purified protein derivitive; Used for TB skin test. Assess for allergies and reactions to drug.

Fentanyl   Opioid analgesic; relief of pain, supplement to anasthesia. Avoid antipsychotics and opioids. Assess for pain (headache) and apnea.

Protonix (Pentoprazole)   Proton pump inhibitor; decreases epigastric fullness, pain, and swelling. Avoid calcium carbonate. Assess for muscle pain.

Levaquin (Levofloxacin)   Anti-infective; bacteriocidal against e. coli, chlamydia, and other bacteria. Avoid antacids, antidysrhythmics, and NSAIDs. Assess for infection and tendon abnormalities.

Paxil (PARoxetine)   Antidepressant; Relief of depression. Avoid digoxin, warfarine, and NSAIDs. Assess mental state, and cardiac function.

Morphine   Opioid analgesic; Decreases pain. Avoid alcohol, antipsychotics, opiates, and sedatives. Monitor CNS.

Lisinopril   Antihypertensive; Decrease BP, preload, and afterload. Avoid antihypertensives, diuretics, NSAIDs. Monitor cardiac, liver, and renal function.

Coreg (Carvedilol)   Antihypertensive, Alpha and Beta blocker; Decreases BP. Avoid alcohol, digoxin, antihypertensives, NSAIDs. Monitor cardiac function.

Aspirin   Nonopioid Analgesic; Decreases pain, inflammation, and fever. Avoid alcohol, nitroglycerine, insuline, antacids, anticoagulants, NSAIDs, and Penicillin. Monitor liver and renal function.

Coumadin (Warfarine)   Anticoagulant; Prevents clotting. Avoid antidepressants, NSAIDs, and Barbiturates. Monitor BP

Nexium (Esomeprazole)   Proton pump inhibitor; Decreases gastroesophageal reflux. Avoid calcium carbonate, digoxin, and penicillin. Assess GI system
