---|---|---|---|---|---|
Chloroplast | an organelle that makes food from sunlight, water and carbon dioxide, and is found in a plant cell
🗑
Cytoplasm | the gel-like material that surrounds the internal parts of the cell
🗑
Diffusion | process that spreads substances through a gas or liquid from higher to lower concentration.
🗑
Nucleus | part of a cell that directs all cell activities and carries information for cell reproduction. DNA is found here.
🗑
Organelle | a structure that has a specific task within the cell
🗑
Osmosis | a type of diffusion that allows water to pass but not the solutes in the water
🗑
Vacuoles | sacs inside a cell that hold water, wastes, and other materials
🗑
Endoplasmic Reticulum | a system of twisting, winding membranes. The ER processes materials it gets from ribosomes and uses them to manufacture proteins
🗑
Mitochondrion | organelle that uses oxygen to process food in order to manufacture energy in both plant and animal cells
🗑
Golgi Bodies | takes the materials manufactured by the endoplasmic reticulum and finishes processing them
🗑
Cell Wall | a tough outer covering that surrounds the cell membrane in a plant cell. It supports and protects plant cells.
🗑
Cell Membrane | a protective covering that encloses the entire cell found in both animal and plant cells
🗑
Prokaryotic Cells | usually single celled organism, with NO nucleus. Genetic material is found in the cytoplasm. This type of cell has NO organelles.
🗑
Eukaryotic Cells | are all multicellular. They DO have a nucleus that contains genetic information.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
