---|---|---|---|---|---|
Fluid Mosiac | A model that refers to how the lipid bilayer acts more like a liquid than a solid. Also, has proteins.
🗑
Active Transport | Energy Needed. Low to High concentration. Material moving through a protein channel.
🗑
Passive Transport | No Energy needed. High to Low concentration. Includes- Osmosis, Diffusion, and Facilitated Diffusion.
🗑
Diffuion | High to Low movement of molecules. No Energy.
🗑
Osmosis | Diffusion of water from an area of High concentraion to an area of Low concentration.
🗑
Endocytosis | Materials entering cells. ( ENdocytosis)
🗑
Exocytosis | Materials exiting cells. ( EXocytosis)
🗑
Hydrophobic | Substance that resists dissolving in water.
🗑
Hydrophilic | Mixes with water.
🗑
Isotonic | No change in cell shape. Describes a solution whose solute concentration is equal to the solute concentraion inside the cell.
🗑
Phospholipid | Molecule that makes up the bilayer of biological membranes.
🗑
Hypotonic | Solute concentration is lower than the solute concentraion inside the cell. ( LOW )
🗑
Hypertonic | Solute concentraion is higher than the solute concentaion inside the cell. ( HIGH )
🗑
Protein Channel | Passes large molecules that can't go through the membrane. It is like a channel that has a path for larger molecules to go through.
🗑
Facilitated Diffusion | Passive Transport. Uses transport proteins to move substances down the concentration gradient.
🗑
Concentration Gradient | Substances moving from High to Low areas.
🗑
Solution | Solutes dissolved in solvents.
🗑
Solute | Substance dissolved in a solution
🗑
Solvent | In a solution, substance dissolves in solutes.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
