Cell parts and their functions

Quiz yourself by thinking what should be in each of the black spaces below before clicking on it to display the answer.
        Help!

Structure
Function
Ribosomes   Makes proteins (cellular products)
🗑
Endoplasmic Reticulum   an arganelle that is made of folded membranes and assembles proteins and parts of the cell membrane
🗑
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum   Transports proteins
🗑
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum   Makes lipids (fats - to store energy) and breaks down toxins
🗑
Golgi Complex   Modifies proteins and packages and sends them where they need to go
🗑
Vacuole   a vesicle that stores and transport water
🗑
Large central vacuole   Stores water and maintains cell size and shape - Plant Cell Only
🗑
Chloroplast   Photosynthesis occurs here to convert sunlight into food - Plant Cell Only
🗑
Lysosome   digests and eats waste materials, organelles and foreign invaders.
🗑
Cell Membrane   acts as a barrier and controls what enters and exits the cell.
🗑
Cell Wall   Provides support and protection to the cell - Plant Cell Only (also part of bacteria, fungi and Archaeal cells)
🗑
Cytoplasm   Fluid inside a cell that contains all of the organelles inside of the cell.
🗑
Nucleus   Contains the cells DNA, controls the cell and tells the cell what to do or make
🗑
Cytoskeleton   Gives shape and support to cells, assists with cell division and movement of cells
🗑
Mitochondria   Makes ATP or Cell Energy; Where cellular respiration occurs to convert food into the energy that is required to power all cellular processes.
🗑
Vesicle   transports substances where they need to go in the cell
🗑
Nucleolus   Makes ribosomes

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
