sepal | Outer part of bud that protects and surrounds the bud before it opens.

petals | Surrounds the inside parts of the flower after it opens. Brightly colored to attract insects.

stamen | The male part of the flower. It includes the anther and the filament.

anther | The top part of the stamen which produces pollen.

filament | The bottom part of the stamen which holds up the anther.

pistil | The female part of the flower. It includes the stigma, style and ovary.

style | The tube that connects the stigma and the ovary and it is part of the pistil.

ovary | The female reproductive part of a flower that contains the eggs / seeds.

embryo | The pollinated egg (baby seed).

pollen | The powdery material that is made by the stamen and is used in reproduction.

pollination | The pollen transferring (moving) from the stamen to the pistil.

seed | The pollinated egg. It can grow into a new plant.

spore | A single cell that can develop into a new plant. Usually found on the back of leaves.
