Question
Answer
What are the steps in Mitosis? ( They have to be in order)   interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, cytokinesis
🗑
What happens during interphase?   There are 46 chromosomes in each cell. The chromosomes copy and form "X" shapes so there are 96 individual chromosomes and 46 'X" shapes.
🗑
What happens during prophase?   The cell begins to divide and centrioles appear and begin to move to the opposite ends of the cell. The nuclear membrane dissolves and chromosomes become X's
🗑
What happens during metaphase?   The pairs of chromosomes line up in a single file line.
🗑
What happens during anaphase?   The pairs of chromosomes are separates and begin to move to opposite ends of the cell.
🗑
What happens during Telophase?   Two new nuclei form. chromosomes appear as thread rather than rods
🗑
What happens during Cytokinesis?   Cell membrane moves inward to create 2 daughter cells each with its own nucleus with identical chromosomes.
🗑
