Need to know about phenothiazines ?   Thorazine - may cause orthostatic hypotension Adverse effects - extrapyramidal reactions, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, seizures, anorexia, urinary retention, dry mouth, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, sedation, tardive dyskenisa - long use

What are the Nonphenothiazines and the use ?   Haloperidol - Acute and chronic psychosis - schizophrenia restiance to other meds, Touretts, children w/ serve behavior issues, combative, suppress narcotic withdrawal.

Haldol contradictions and adverse effects?   Contradicted w/ narrow angle glaucoma, severe hepatic, renal, cardiovascular disease, parkinsons - Life threatening effects tachycardia, seizures, urinary retention, reparatory distress, layrngospasm, neuro malignant syndrome, dysrhythmias

Atypical Antipsychotics include used for?   Risperidone ( Risperidal) Quetapine ( Seroquel) Aripiprazole ( Abilify) - Phychotic disorder - Schizophrenia, bipolar, mania
