MAOI   heart palpitations and postural hypotension, dizziness, Ha, tremors, insomnia, anxiety, restlessness, agitation, and anticholinergic effects   MAOIs interact with tyramine, a substance found in aged and pickled foods. This interaction causes serotonin syndrome, a life-threatening condition involving a rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, Ha, and fever

Retinoid   Topical Agents: burning, peeling, dry skin, redness, and itching. Oral Agent: depression, psychosis, pancreatitis, high triglycerides, and hepatotoxicity   Isotretinoin cannot be used by women who are or might become pregnant

TCN   Stomach upset, nausea, and vomiting, photosensitivity   Tetracyclines will bind with metals and ions, such as calcium, aluminum, and magnesium, children under eight year old and pregnant women cannot use tetracyclines because permanent teeth problems could occur   Avoid sun exposure Do not take with dairy products do not take with antacids

K Sparing/thiazide   Thiazide: hypotension, dizziness, Ha, rash, hair loss, stomach upset, diarrhea, and constipation Potassium-sparing: gynesmastia   Thiazide depletes potassium levels in the body . They also interact with alcohol to contribute to drops in blood pressure

SERM   Dizziness, hot flashes, tingling, chest tightness, muscle aches, weakness, increased blood pressure, and sweating   Patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, or angina should not take triptans because these drugs can worsen these conditions. MAOIs and ergotamine should not be taken with SERMs   May cause dizziness

SNRI   Nausea, Vomiting, Dry Mouth, Drowsiness, insomnia, Ha, and diarrhea, sexual dysfunction, including decreased libido,   Serotonin syndrome occurs when too much serotonin is present, causing changes in cardiovascular function and even heart attack, in severe cases

SNRI   inability to achieve orgasm, or impaired ejaculation . Fluoxetine can aslo cause weight loss, and is sometimes used for eating disorders, including bulimia   If patients experience the combination of racing heart rate, fever, high blood pressure, and Ha, which may be signs of serotonin syndrome, the should seek immediate medical attention
