When and how do we experience extreme/spring tides?   We experience extreme/spring tides around the Full or New moon when the attraction of the Sun and the moon. Happens when the Sun, moon, and Earth are aligned.

What causes the different phases of the Moon.   The phases of the moon depend on its position in relation to the Sun and the Earth. As the Moon makes its way around the Earth, we see the brightest parts of the Moon's surface at different angles. These are called "phases" of the Moon.
