Geosphere | The solid part of the Earth that consists of all rock, as well as the soils and loose rocks on Earth's surface.

Crust | Earth's thin outer layer

Mantle | The layer beneath the crust, makes up 64% of the mnass of the Earth.

Lithosphere | Earth's outer layer. Cool rigid layer.

Asthenosphere | The layer beneath the lithosphere. A plastic, solid layer of the mantle made of rock that flows very slowly and allows tectonic plates to move on top of it.

Tectonic Plates | Part of the lithospshere that is divided into peices. Continents are located on tectonic plates and move around them.

Erosion | The removal and transport of surface material

Atmosphere | A mixture of gases that surrounds the Earth. Made up of Nitrogen, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and other gases.

Troposphere | The atmospheric layer nearest Earth's surface. Extends to about 18km above Earth's surface.

Stratosphere | Above the troposphere. Extends from about 18km to an altitude of about 50km. Temperatures rise as altitude increases.

Ozone | O3, a molecule made up of three oxygen atoms. In the stratosphere.

Radiation | the transfer of energy across space and in the atmosphere

Conduction | is the flow of heat from a warmer object to a colder object when objects are placed in direct physical contact.

Convection | is the transfer of heat by air currents.
