Hypothesis | Educated guess about the solution to the problem. Must be an "If...then..." statement

Steps of the Scientific Method | 1. Identify the problem or question
2. Conduct research on the topic
3. Form a hypothesis
4. Perform the experiment
5. Analyze the data

Experiment | The process used to test the hypothesis

Control | Must not change so the experiment is fair. Used for comparisons
🗑

||||
Observations | Information gathered using the five senses
🗑

||||
Independent Variable | What the scientist changes in the experiment
🗑

||||
Dependent Variable | Can be measured. Is a result of the experiment.
🗑
|
||||
Problem | A question that may be answered using the scientific method. Must be observable, measurable, and repeatable

||||
Constants | The things in the experiment that don't change. Ex: size of a container, amount of liquid, etc.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
