What is the difference between a sprain and a dislocation? Sprain is a stretched ligament or a torn ligament on other hand dislocation is when bones are forced from their normal alignment.
What is Wolf’s Law? It means bones get stronger under the most stress.
What is the difference between an Osteoblast and an Osteoclast? Osteoblasts: Cells build new bones. Osteoclasts: Cells break down old bones.
What is the difference between an Eccrine gland and an Apocrine gland? Eccrine glands are located all over your body and make normal sweat to cool your body. Apocrine glands are located in places like armpits; they make a thicker sweat with body odor.
Where is Red Bone Marrow found and what does it do? It is found in the spongy bones. Its main job is to creation of new blood cells.
What is the difference between Compact and Spongy bone? Compact bone is hard outside the layer of bone which gives it strength. On the other side, the spongy bone is a light bone on the end of the bone that absorbs shock.
What are the three things that keep a joint from stable? Shape of the bones,Ligaments,Muscle Tone.
What is the difference between Flexion and Extension? Flexion is bending a joint and Extension is straightening a joint.
What are Bursae and why do we have them? Small bags of fluid in joints acting as cushion bones stopping from rubbing against each other.
What is a Fontanel and why do babies have them? Fontanels are soft spots on babies' heads that exist for easier birth of the babies and it also allows room for the brain to grow.
What are the two types of bone growth? Length growth from growth plates and width growth wider and thicker base of aging or being active.
What are the two most common types of Moveable joints? Hinge Joint moves back and forth and Ball Socket Joint can move almost by any direction.
What is the difference between Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis? Osteoarthritis wear and tear from overuse and rheumatoid arthritis is autoimmune when the body attacks itself.
What is the Arrector Pili muscle? A tiny muscle responsible for hair standing up cursing goosebumps.
What is the difference between 1st 2nd and 3rd degree burns? 1st degree only the top layer red color, 2nd degree top and middle blisters, 3rd Degree all layers are destroyed the color is white with dead nerves.
