Performing Rights | -Under the Copyright Act, performers' have right regarding their performances, recordings of their performances on tapes, cds, etc. |
Plagerism | -Occurs when a person copies somebody else's work and tries to pass it off as their own.
-Can be considered criminal

Fair Dealing | -The Canadian Copyright Act allows users to engage in certain activities that relate to news reporting, research, private study, education, etc. |
Patent | -an exclusive right granted by the government to an inventor or owner of a manufactured item to sell the item for a certain number of years |
Blanket License | -These are granted by societies which allow the right to perform their catalog for for a period of time |
