What are Sulfonamides used to treat? Sulfonamides are bacteriostatic used to treat UTI's, Burns, and Ulcerative colitis.
What are Drug names under the Sulfonamide class of antibiotics? Sulfadiazine, Bactrim, Septra, and Silvadene.
What are some of the adverse reactions caused by Sulfonamides? N/V, Stomatisis, Crystalluria, Photosensitivity, Pruritis, Urticaria, TEN (Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis), and SJS (Steven Johnsons syndrome).
Who are Sulfonamides not given to? Children 2 and under, Someone toward the end of pregnancy, and during lactation.
