TermsDefinition
metric system decimal system of units based on the meter as a unit length, the kilograms as a unit mass, and the second as a unit time.
length the distance between two points.
mass the amount of matter contained in an object.
volume the space matter occupies.
meter metric standard for lines measure unit of distance.
liter basic unit of volume.
gram unit of mass.
weight force created by the response of mass to the pull of gravity measure of the heaviness of an object.
gravity natural force of attraction between any two massive bodies which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them
scale insturment used to measure weight.
