Metrics 1

TermDefinition
Metric System -decimal system of units based on the meter as a unit length, kilogram as a unit mass, and the second as a unit time.
length -the distance between two points.
mass -the amount of matter contained in an object.
volume -the space of matter occupies.
meter -basic unit of length.
liter -the basic unit of measure for volume in the metric system.
gram -basic unit of mass.
weight -the force created by the response of mass to the pull of gravity.
gravity natural force of attraction between any two massive bodies,which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversly proportional to the squareof the distance between them.
scale instrument used to measure weight.
