Metric Terms 2

Metric System Decimal system of units based on the meter as a unit length.
Length the distance between two points.
Mass amount of matter in an object.
Volume the space matter takes up.
Meter the basic unit of length.
Liter liter is the measurment of volume.
Gram the standard unit of mass.
Weight the force created by the response of mass to the pull of gravity.
Gravity gravity is the attraction between two objects ( usually the earth and another object.)
Scale the instrument weight is measured.

hecto- 100
Deka- 10
deci- 1/10
centi- 1/100
milli- 1/1000
Meterstick Instrument used to measure length in the Metric system.
Balance Mass is measured with a balance
Graduated Cyclinder the instrument used to measure liqiud volume.
Meniscus the curve on liquid surface in a graduated cyclinder and the point of which liquid volume is measured
