What is Surveying?
What is Preliminary Surveying? This is when the position of existing objects is determined.
What is Construction Stakeout? Establishing positions so that construction will conform to design drawings.
What is Plane Surveying? This is that type of surveying in which the curvature of the earth is not considered.
What is Geodetic Surveying? This is tat type of surveying in which the curvature of the earth is considered.
Reasons for Surveying?
What is levelling? Levelling is the operation of determining the difference in elevation between points on the earth's surface
What is Level Surface? A level surface is which every point is perpendicular to the direction of the plumb line.
What is A Plane Surface? Flat and Perpendicular to a plumb line at only one point.
What Does mAOD mean? Metres Above Ordnance Datum.
