What components are inside my computer?
| Question | Answer |

| Motherboard | The "heart" of the computer |
| CPU | Central Processing Unit; "brain" of the computer: "processor or chip" |
| RAM | Random Access Memory; used to store information for files that are actually being used by the CPU at any given time |
| Graphic Card | Translates information into the graphics & text that appear on the monitor screen. |
| Power Supply | Supplies power to the other components: has a bulit fan into it to keep itself and the computer cool. |
| Hard Disk | Hard drive; The programs and data are stored on the hard disk and the computer accesses them as they are needed. |
| Optical Drive | DVD Drive or CD drive; uses a laser to read and write information to CD's and DVD's |
| Hardware | Actual physical components that go into the computer. |
| Software | Refers to programs and systems that operate within the hardware. |
