Using the OPAC
vocabulary
| Question | Answer |

| Circulation Desk | where items are checked out and also returned -- "circulating" |
| Return Book Slot | where items are returned (unless they are too large) |
| Student Check-out Computers | at each entrance/exit to the LMC with instructions for self-use |
| ? (question mark) | a spelling tool that replaces single unknown letters in a search term |
| * (asterisk) | a spelling tool that replaces groups of unknown letters in a search term |
| "Do You Mean?" box | a spelling tool with a dropdown menu offering various spelling suggestions |
| Recommend | a book endorsement sent to one person at a time |
| Review | a book endorsement sent to the entire school and/or district |
| Personal List | an option that helps you create and remember any particular group of books you choose |
| Resource Lists | Records of books that teachers have designed to help with a particular assigned topic |
| Titlepeek | additional information about a book located by clicking on the bookcover |
| anonymous | allows access to all OPAC options except saving, reviewing, holding, and recommending |
| login | allows access to all OPAC options |
| Hold | to reserve an item; to get "in line" for it as soon as it becomes available |
| Reading Program | for GAMS, it is Accelerated Reader |
| Title Details | the webpage that comes after Search Results where you can find out how many pages a book has |
| icons | little pictures that designate where the homepage is or what type of material an item is -- book, audiobook, equipment, eBook, etc. |
| Destiny Quest | A challenge to "conquer" / read as many of the books in the LMC as you can within your career here at the MS |
