what is culture? -The way of life for groups of people -share beleifs/customs
ethnic group -ancestry -groups that share the same beleifs/ of family
language -Sharing info and communicating -Can be verbal/non verbal
What are the eight traits of culture? *ethnic groups/ ancestry *language *daily life *history *arts *government *economy *religion
history -cultures have a shared history -happy-or-sad, its looking at the past
daily life -what people do on a regular basis, routine -what they...... *eat *wear *sports they wear *kind of homes they live in
religion -helps people answer questions about lifes meaning -a beleif system has a central god -moral behavior
government -culture have some form of political system
economy -how goods are produced and exchanged
Traditional Economy -family or community, based on customs and rituals EX:Aborigines(Austrailia), and The Amazon People(South America)
Market Economy Individual or consumer based economis system that relies on theconsumtion choices of consumers. EX: The U.S.A., Japan
Command Economy -Centrally Controlled Economy where the government makes all decisions. EX: Cuba, China
Mixed Economy -Economic System that incorporates some Governmental involvement into a Market Based Economy. EX: The U.S.A., Japan
