QuestionAnswer
What is matter? anything that takes up space
What is a property? a characteristic of matter that you can observe. (Texture , Luster)
What is volume? how much space an object takes up
What is mass? how much matter in in an object
What is a gram? one unit used to measure mass
What is a liter? one unit used to measure volume
What is a solid? matter that has a definite size and shape
What is a liquid? matter that has a definite volume, not definite shape
What is gas? matter that has no definite shape or volume
What is a physical change? a change in how matter looks, but not the kind of matter it is
What is a mixture? when you mix different kinds of matter together, but the properties of each do not change
What is a solution? forms when one or more kinds of matter are mixed evenly in another kind of matter
What is a metal? a hard shiny material found on Earth's surface
What are elements? the building blocks of matter
What are atoms? the smallest particles of matter
What are compounds? form when you put to or more elements together
What is chemical change? changes in the matter itself (You start with one kind of matter and end up with another kind of matter)
