Onset of action time its takes to reach the minimum effective concentration
Peak action Highest blood or Plasma level
Duration of action Length of time the drug has a pharmacologic effect
Receptors Drug-Binding sites usually protiens
Agonist a drug that produces a response
Antagonist a drug that block a response
Peak Drug Level highest plasma concentration of a drug at a specfic time
Trough Level Lowest plasma concentration of a drug, drawn immediatly before the next dose is due reguardless of route
Therapeutic range (therapeutic window) drug level btw the minimum effective concentration for desired drug action and minimum toxic concentration the toxic effects
High Therapeutic Index Wide margin of safety less danger of producing toxic effects
