newton's and forces

force an action exerted on an object in order to change the objects motion
balanced forces do not change the motion of an object(cancel/out) (net~0)
unbalanced forces do not cancel out with each other. produces a movement in the object
balanced forces don't cause change in a motion in a moving object and do not cuase an object at rest to start moving- no acceleration

a car is at a constant speed balanced

friction type of force that opposes motion between 2 surfaces that are touching
static friction force that resists the initiation of movement between 2 surfaces that are at rest
kinetic friction opposes the movement of 2 surfaces that are in contact and moving over each other.
air resistance good type of friction that help keep kites and airplanes in the air
sand paper good type of friction that makes surfaces smoother
oil bad friction used to reduce friction in engine parts
hair on legs, head,and arms bad friction
is friction necessary yes in most situations you can never start moving at rest and you could never stop moving when in motion
