Therapeutic communicaiton words defined
| Term | Meaning |

| Speaks | with well-thought-out ideas regarding the role of the patient in the healing process |
| Is fully present | Is totally focused on the patient and his ideas about the problem. |
| Listens | with the whole self, with the third ear in order to ascertain the patient's meanings and goals |
| Develops trust | resists trying to influence the patient; instead, asks questions only to ascertain the truth about the problem as the patient preceives it. |
| Listen | clarify, ask, never assume or make quick judgments |
| Identify | problems with the patient, evaluate |
| Hypothesize | causes (make educational guess) |
| Treat | through theraputic measures and education |
| Reevaluate | what's has been done in the past |
| Readjust | to the new stater and begin again until goals are reached. |
| Empathy | understanding of another’s feelings: the ability to identify with and understand another person’s feelings or difficulties |
| sympathize | be of same opinion: to share the ideas or ideals of another person or group |
| Pity | feeling of sympathy: a feeling of sadness because somebody else is in trouble or pain, |
| Identification | strong feeling of affinity: a powerful feeling of affinity with another person or group, which sometimes involves regarding somebody as a model and adopting his or her beliefs, values, or other characteristics |
| Self transposal | to make two things change places or reverse their normal order,putting myself in the other's place |

| personal ideas and judgments | some information about oneself is shared, (related to patient's illness or process going through) |
| feelings and emotions | a deep trust is required to share at this level, true friendship and caring required |
| peak communication | mutual complete openness, honesty, respect and love are required to communicate at this level. Intimacy is shared |
