Meyers Briggs Personality Types

TypeDescription
Sensing (S) One of two ways we use our mind; taking in information: Looks at specific parts an pieces, lives in the present, prefers practical matters, likes things that are definite and measurable, starts at the beginning and takes one step at a time
Intuition (N) One of two ways of thinking; Taking in information: Looks at patterns and relationships, lives toward the future, prefers imaging possibilities, likes opportunities for being inventive, jumps in anywhere and leaps over steps
Thinking (T) One of two ways we use our mind; Making decisions: Decides with head, goes by logic, concerned with truth and justice, sees things as an onlooker, takes the long view, spontaneously criticizes, good at analyzing plans, may seem cold and condescending
Feeling (F) One of two ways we use our minds; Making decisions: Decides with heart, goes by personal convictions, concerned w/ relationships & harmony, sees things as a participant, takes the personal view,appreciates, understands people,fuzzy-minded and emotional
Extraversion (E) One of Two orientations to life; Attitudes toward world: Friendly, talkative, easy to know, express emotions, needs relationships, energized by people and experiences, acts then reflects, gives breadth to life, may appear shallow
Introversion (I) One of two orientations to life; Attitude towards the world: Reserved, quiet, hard to get to know, bottles up emotions, needs privacy, energized by inner resources and internal experiences, reflects than acts, gives depth to life, may appear withdrawn
Judging (J) One of two orientations to life; Lifestyle: prefers organization, likes order and structure, likes life under control, likes closure, likes to decide, handles deadlines, plans in advance, may seem rigid and uptight
Perception (P) One of two orientations to life; Lifestyle: Prefers flexibility, goes with the flow, prefers to experience life as it happens, likes to keep things, likes to wait for more information, meets deadlines by last minute rush, may seem messy and irresponsible
