| ego | The strongest part of the human personality, according to Freud; helps a person be realistic, and balances the id and the superego. |
| superego | Part of the human personality, according to Freud; the collective teachings of the society concerning right and wrong. |
| personality | The "inner you" ; the combination of experience patterns , hereditary facrots, and enviromental factors that make every human a unique individual. |
| heredity | The passing of characteristics form parents to children through the process of reproduction. |
| adaption | A change in behavior to meet the needs of a changing enviroment. |
| enviroment | A person's surroundings, including people, places, and things; the nonhereditary part of a person's personality. |
