Dissolve When a substance disappears into another substance

Indicator A substance that tells scientists about the make up of a solution.
Mixture A combination of different substances
Observation Things that we notice through our senses
pH A measure of how much acid or base is present
PPB part per billion
PPM part per million
Solute A chemical that dissolves into another substance (example: salt
Solution Two or more substances that are combined to forma single phase that is the same throughout.
Solvent A chemical that dissolves other substances. (example: water)
Successive dilution The process of adding 9 drops of solvent to 1 of solution and then taking 1 drop from the new solution and repeating the process.
Water A common chemical that acts as a solvent for almost all other substances
