What are you looking for in a plain abdominal radiograph? | Upright - Fluid level and Air // Supine - Masses, calcification, organomegly // Chest-Look for free air under diaphragm reason for x-ray |
What will a small bowel obstruction look like on plain film? | you can clearly see bubbles with air fluid level (String of pearl/hot air balloons) |
HIDA scan is performed for what? | Check Gallbladder ejection fraction (lots of pain if blocked) |
Upper GI (aka barium swallow) views which structures? | Esophagus, Stomach, duodenum and may go all the way to the illiocecal valve if ordered "through small bowel." |
A floroscopy esophagram would be looking for what? | Strictures, ruptures and masses |
