| Electron | negitivly charged atom. |
| Orbital | Regions in an atom wheree electrons are likeley to be found. |
| Valence Electron | Electron in the outermost energy level of an atom. |
| Periodic Law | The law that states that the repeating chemical and physical properties of elements |
| Period | The time it takes to complete a cycle or for ocillation to occur. |
| Group | Verticle column of elements in the periodic table. |
| Ion | An atom, radical, or molecule that has gained or lost one or more electrons. |
| Atomic Number | The number of protons in the nuecleus of an atom. |
| Mass Number | The sum of the number of protons and nuetrons in the nuecleus of an atom. |
| Isotopes | An atom that has the same number of protons as other atoms of the same element do but that has a different number of nuetrons. |
| Atomic Mass Unit | A unit of mass that describes the mass of all naturally occuring isotopes of a element. |
| Metal | Elemt that is shiny and conducts heat and electricity well. |
| Non-metal | Element that conducts heat and electricity poorly and that does not conduct positive ions. |
