What is a Cognitive Disorder? | problems with thought processes occur. It can include loss of higher reasoning, forgetfulness, learning disabilities, concentration difficulties, decreased intelligence, and other reductions in mental functions. |
What is Aphasia? | Aphasia is a breakdown in language skills. There are 3 main types: 1-Anomi-difficulty in naming things. 2-Paraphasia, saying a word that sounds like another word or idea. 3-Agrammatism- difficulty putting things in proper grammatical configuration |
What is Apraxia? | What is it? Apraxia is a breakdown in the ability to translate a verbal command into its motor expression. |
What is Amnesia | mnesia is a memory disorder particularly affecting the creation of new memories, or memory of recent events. "Forgetting stuff" |
What is Agnosia? | Agnosia- is a breakdown in a person's ability to associate an object with its meaning, to recognize objects, people and him/herself. |
What is Executive dysfunction? | Executive dysfunction disorder affects the individual's ability to make goals or carry out plans to reach a goal |
What are the five main Cognitive Disorders? | Aphasia, Apraxia, Amnesia, Agnosia, and Executive Dysfunction. |
