| Volcano | An Opening in the earth, Usually raised, through which gasses and lava escape from the earths crust. |
| Strait | A narrow strip of water connecting two large bodies of water. |
| Oasis | A spot of fertile land in a desert, fed by water from wells or undergroud springs. |
| Island | A body of land surrounded by water. |
| Flood Plain | Flat land near the edges of rivers formed by mud and silt deposited by floods. |
| Swamp | An area of land that is saturated by water. |
| Plateau | A broad, flat area of land higher than the surrouding land. |
| Desert | A dry area where very few plants grow. |
| Delta | A trianglar area of land formed from desposits at the mouth of a river. |
| Marsh | Soft, wet, Low-lying, grassy land that serves as a transition between water and land. |
| Mesa | A wide, Flat-topped mountian with steep sides, larger than a butte. |
| Canyon | A Narrow,Deep valley with steep sides |
| River Mouth | A place Where a river flows into a lake or ocean |
| Harbor | A sheltered area of water deep enough for docking ships |
| Cape | A pointed piece of land extending into the ocean |
| Prairie | A large, level area of land with few trees. |
| Cliff | A steep, almost vertical edge. |
| Mountain | Natural elevation of the earths surface. |
| Valley | Low land between hills of mountains. |
| Glacier | A large mass that moves slowly down a mountain |
