Chapter 2 Vocabulary for Business Communication.

Copyright The legal right of someone, usually the author or artist, to use or reproduce a work.
Cross-Cultural Communication Sharing messages verbally, nonverbally, or in writing with people from other cultures.
Culture A set of beliefs, attitudes, practices, and social customs that distinguishes a group of people.
Discrimination Unfair treatment of a person or group on the basis ot prejudice.
Diversity The presence of a wide range of varitaion in qualities or attributes of people or things.
Ethics Principles of right and wrong that govern bahvior.
Ethnicity The division of people into groups that share a common ancestry, history, or culture.
Etiqutte A set of rules of behavior for a particular place or situation.
Globalization The integration of activities among nations in areas such as comerce and culture.
Identity Theft Stealing and illegally using a person's private data.
Inclusion Seeing and valuing the contributions of everyone and treating everyone fairly.
Multinationl Company A company that conducts business in atleat two nations.
Plagiarism The act of claiming someone else's words or ideas as your own.
Prejudice A bias that prevents objective thought about a person or thing.
Race The divison of people into groups based on physical characteristics such as skin or hair color.
Stereotype An over simplified belief about a group of people.
Trade Secret Information the gives a business a competitive advantage and that it makes reasonable efforts to keep secret.
