| bronchodialator | a drug used to relieve bronchospasm associated with respiratory disorders. |
| expectorant | a drug that aids in raising thick, tenacious mucus from the respiratory passages. |

| non-productive cough | is a dry, hacking cough that produces no secretions. |
| cardiac output | the amount of blood leaving the left ventricle with each contraction. |
