What are nonretroviral drugs for Flu A? amantadine (symmetrel) rimantadine (Flumadine)
Why would you pick rimantadine over amantadine? rimantadine has less CNS adverse effects, less GI upset
What common antiviral drug treats herpes? acyclovir (Zovirax) "so fire ax" - burns
What antiviral drug treats CMV retinitis? ganciclovir (Cytovene) "sight"
What are adverse affects of ganciclovir? dose limiting toxicities - bone marrow toxicity
