Matter terms

Matter anything that has mass and takes up space
Solid matter that has a definite shape and takes up a definite amount of space
Liquid matter that takes the shape of its container and takes up a definite amount of space
Gas matter that has no definite shape and takes up no definite amount of space
Volume the amount of space that matter takes up
Density the property of matter that compares the amount of matter to the space taken up by the matter
Solution a mixture in which the particles of different kinds of matter are mixed evenly with each other
Solubility a measure of the amount of a material that wil dissolve in another material
Mass the amount of matter in an object
Bouyancy the ability of matter to float in a liquid or a gas
Gravity the force that pulls all objects toward each other
Weight the force of an object caused by the pull of gravity
It always remains the same, even if you go to the moon Mass
It can change if you go into outer space Weight
Measured in cubic units volume
In hot water food coloring spreads out faster because molecules are moving more rapidly
Food coloring moves slower In cool water
Air takes up space and has weight
Solid Molecules packed tightly together
