Pain Management

TermDescription
Analgesics a group of drugs used to relieve pain without the possibility or causing physical dependency, which can occur with the use of the narcotic analgesics.
Antipyretics drugs that decrease body temperature.
salicylates inclue aspirin and related drugs, such as magnesium salicylate and sodium salicylate.
aspirin analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory
acetaminophen Tylenol-Analgesic, antipyretic
NSAID Non-narcotic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic.
ibuprophen Advil, Motrin, Midol- treats mild to moderate pain, rheumatoid disorders, & painful dysmenorrhea
ketorolac Toradol - short-term management of pain; osteoarthritis, rheumatoid artritis
nabumetone Relafen- treatment of rheumatoid and osteoarthritis
fentanyl transdermal Duragesic
meperidine hydrochloride Demerol
Naloxone hydrochloride Narcan-Narcotic overdose, postoperative narcotic depression
naltrexone hydrochloride Narcotic addiction, alcohol deprendence
