Diffraction Waves change direction to move around an obstacle; edges of a shadow look fuzzy because of the diffraction of light.
Dispersion separation of white light into separate wavelengths of light in the visible spectrum.White light undergoes dispersion when it enters a prism.
Electromagnetic spectrum entire frequency range of electromagnetic waves; contains all types of light waves (radio, microwave, infrared, visible, ultraviolet, X-ray, and gamma rays)
Light type of energy that we perceive with our eyes; carried in both waves and particles.
Mirage type of refracted image; makes you think you are seeing things that aren’t really there.
Photons massless bundles of electromagnetic energy; photons act like particles.
Laser beam beam of photons, or particles of light, of a certain wavelength.
Polarize make light move only in restricted directions; reduce glare.
Visible light part of the electromagnetic spectrum visible to the human eye; contains all the colors that we can see.
