Arm Musculature PTA

Brachioradialis ORIGIN: lateral subcondylar ridge of humerus. INSERTION:radial styloid process. NERVE:radial. ACTION:flexes forearm at elbow.
Pronator Teres ORIGIN: medial epicondyle and supracondylar ridge. INSERTION:1/2 way down on lateral radius.NERVE: median. ACTION:pronates and flexes forearm at elbow.
Pronator Quadratus ORIGIN: medial distal ulna. INSERTION:distal lateral radius. NERVE:anterior interosseous. ACTION:pronates the forearm.
Supinator ORIGIN:lateral epicondyle of humerus. INSERTION:upper 1/2 lateral posterial radius. NERVE:posterior deep radial.ACTION: supinates wrist and forearm.
Flexor Carpi Radialis ORIGIN:medial epicondyle of humerus.INSERTION:2nd&3rd metacarpal.NERVE:median. Action:flexes and abducts hand at wrist.
Flexor Carpi Ulnaris Origin:medial epicondyle of humerus. INSERTION: pisiform,hamate, 5th metacarpal.NERVE:ulnar. ACTION:flexes and adducts the hand at wrist.
Palmaris Longus ORIGIN: medial epicondyle of humerus. INSERTION:palmar aponeurosis and flexor retinaculum.NERVE:median. ACTION:flexes hand at wrist and tenses palmar aponeurosis.
Flexor Digitorum Superficialis ORIGIN:medial epicondyle, radius, & proximal anterior ulna.INSERTION:medial 4 digits.NERVE:median. ACTION:flexor of fingers (primarily at proximal interphalangeal joints)
Flexor digitorum profundus ORIGIN:ulna, interosseous membrane.INSERTION:medial 4 digits(distal part).Nerve:Median(lateral two)Ulnar median two digits.ACTION:major flexor of wrist.

Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus ORIGIN:lateral condyle and supracondylar ridge. INSERTION: 2nd metacarpal.NERVE:radial. ACTION:extends and abducts hand at wrist.
Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis ORIGIN:lateral epicondyle of humerus. INSERTION: 3rd metacarpal. NERVE:posterior deep radial. ACTION:extends and abducts hand at wrist.
