RBC | Med size of 3 cells;Pink - stains; shape biconcave disk; other; does not usually contain a nucleus |
Platelet | smallest of 3 cells; color- purple; other; clumped or concen on the periphary |
WBC | Largest of 3 cells; color - varies; dark to light purple; other; always has a nucleus |
Neutrophil | granules; neutral staining granules, light stained cytoplasm - WBC |
Eosinophil | granules; pink stained granules; segmented nucleus, mature cells - WBC |
Basophil | granules; stains dark blue to purple; nucleus segmented, but not seen obscured by granules - WBC |
Lymphocyte | no granules; vary in size; nucleus stains dark purple, round, homogeneously dark; small cytoplasm - WBC |
Monocyte | no granules; largest; stains blue; vacuoles; nucleus is horse-shoe or curved; nucleus stains lighter purple them lymp - WBC |
