Expiratory reserve volume (ERV): Maximal volume expired after normal expiration.
Forced expiratory volume (FEV): The amount of air exhaled in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd second of a forced vital capacity test.
Forced vital capacity (FVC): The amount of air forcefully expired after a maximal inspiration.
Functional residual capacity (FRC): . Volume in the lungs after normal exhalation
Inspiratory capacity (IC): The amount of air that can be inspired after a normal exhalation.
Inspiratory reserve volume (IRV): Maximal volume inspired after normal inspiration.
Residual volume (RV): Lung volume remaining in the lungs at the end of a maximal expiration.
Tidal volume (TV): Total volume inspired and expired per breath.
Total lung capacity (TLC): Lung volume measured at the end of a maximal inspiration.
Vital capacity (VC): Maximal volume forcefully expired after a maximal inspiration.
