| loop diuretic/lasix | anuria, hepatic coma, severe electrolyte depletion |
| potassium sparing diuretic/aldactone | pts with anuria, significant acute renal failure, BUN and serum creatine |
| thiazide diuretic/diruil | anuria, hypokalemia, severe hepatic or renal impairment |
| ACE inhibitor/Enalapril | pt history of angioedema, renal impairment, low sodium levels |
| beta blocker/atenolol | do not use in patients with low HR/BP, AV block, cardiogenic shock |
| calcium channel blocker/procardia | advanced aortic stenosis, severe hypotension |
| cardiac glycosides/digoxin | ventricular fib, ventricular tachycardia, pts with AV block |
