PAINTING LEVELS

Success Criteria

LEVEL 2 PAINTING I can use a paintbrush to apply paint with a bit of control.
LEVEL 3 PAINTING I can use a paintbrush with some control to make steady outlines and flat shapes. I can also mix primary colours together to make secondary colours as well as some tertiary colours.
LEVEL 4 PAINTING I can use a paintbrush with control to paint different shapes without going over the outlines. I can mix primary colours to make secondary colours and use a range of light and dark tertiary colours as well as the colours that the paint comes in.
LEVEL 5 PAINTING I can paint a range of different shapes and details without going over the outlines. I can mix a wide range of colours and follow contours with highlights, mid-tones and shadows to create 3D form, light effects and the illusion of space.
LEVEL 6 PAINTING I can mix a wide range of colours and use highlights, mid-tones and shadows to successfully create 3D form, light effects, mood and the illusion of depth in my work. I can also use a range of marks to create texture.
LEVEL 7/8/* PAINTING I can mix a wide range of colours and use different COLOUR SCHEMES to successfully create 3D form, lighting effects, atmosphere and the illusion of depth in my work. I can also use a range of marks and tones to create different textures.
