Albuterol/Ipratropium Bromide (Combivent) Class Combination Bronchodilator bspasmm
Albuterol/Ipratropium Bromide (Combivent) Action Binds and Stimulates Beta-2 receptors, resulting in relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle, antagonizes acetylcholine receptor, produces bronchodilation.
Albuterol/Ipratropium Bromide (Combivent) Indications Second line treatment for COPD or severe asthma exacerbations.
Albuterol/Ipratropium Bromide (Combivent) Adverse Effects Headache, nausea, cough, arrhythmias, paradoxical bronchospasm.
Albuterol/Ipratropium Bromide (Combivent) Contraindications Allergy to soy, peanuts, atropine, albuterol; Caution with hypertension, angina, arrhythmias, cardiovascular disease, congenital long QT syndrome, glaucoma.
Albuterol/Ipratropium Bromide (Combivent) Dosage 2 puffs every 6 hours, maximum 12 puffs per day.
