| SI Units | The International System of Units that scientists use; The Metric system and all it's prefixes. |
| Gram | Basic mass unit of the Metric system. |
| Bar Graph | Graph that compares values of items. |
| Natural Science | One of the main 2 branches of Science. Deals with trying to understand how the universe behaves. |
| Earth Science | A subdivision of Natural Science; Geology + Meteorology. |
| Density | How much matter is in the volume of a substance. |
| Compound | Substance made up of atoms of different elements. |
| Mixture | a combination of substances that are not chemically combined. |
| Reactivity | The capacity to combine with another substance. |
| Nonflammability | Inability to burn. |
| Matter | Anything with mass that takes up space. |
| Geology | A branch of earth science that deals with physical nature and the history of earth. |
| Precision | Indicates how close measurements are to each other. |
| Meter | Basic unit of distance for the Metric System |
| Line Graph | used to show continuously changing data. |
| Significant Figures | How accurate a measurement is. |
| Physics | The science of forces and energy. |
| Physical Science | A subdivision of Natural Science; Chemistry + Physics |
| Element | A substance that can't be broken down into a simpler substance by simple chemical means. |
| Molecule | The smallest unit of a substance that still behaves like the substance. |
| Chemical Property | Describes how a substance changes into another substance. Not as easy to observe as physical properties. |
| Boiling Point | The point at which something boils. |
| Mass | Lbs, grams, kilograms, tons, Oz, micrograms, nanograms, etc. |
| Chemical Change | Happens when one or more substances are changed into entirely new substances that have different properties/characteristics. |
| Scientific Method | An organized series of steps that scientists use to solve a problem. |
| Accuracy | Indicates how close a measurement is to the true value |
| Liter | Basic unit of volume for the metric system. |
| Pie graph | Shows parts of a whole; a circle graph |
| Scientific Notation | Method of reducing the number of zeros in very big or very small numbers and expressing them as a power of 10. |
| Chemistry | Science of matter and how it changes. |
| Hypothesis | Possible explanation of an event of solution to a problem. |
