TypeAgeCharacteristics
Type I 20-30 (or younger) no wrinkles, early photoaging, mild pigment changes, no keratosis, minimal/no makeup needed
Type II 30-40 wrinkles in motion, early-moderate photoaging, lentigines preasent, light keratosis, nasolabial lines forming, minimal makeup needed
Type III 40-50 wrinkles at rest, advanced photoaging, hyperpigmentation with telangiectasia, keratosis, makeup necessary
Type IV 50+ wrinkles are predominant, severe photoaging, shallow ashy skin coloring, prior skin cancers, makeup will set into cracks
