Periodic Table

QuestionAnswer
Periodic- describes something that occurs or repeats at regular intervals.
Periodic Law- the law that states that the repeating chemical and physical properties of elements change periodically with the atomic numbers of elements.
Period- in chemistry, a horizontal row of elements in the periodic table.
Group- a vertical column of elements in the periodic table; elements in a group share chemical properties.
Alkali Metals- Elements in group one of the periodic Table of Elements.
alkaline earth metal- less reactive than alkali metals are.
Halogens- very reactive nonmetals because their atoms need to gain only one electron to have a complete outer level.
Noble Gas- unreactive nonmetals and are in group 18 of the periodic table.
