Clearance The rate a substance is removed from the blood by the body. (kidneys, liver, lungs, hemodialysis, ect)
What drug/patients characteristics will effect bioavailability? 1. Lipid Solubility 2. Ionization a. Ionization med trick b. acids donate protons c. bases accept protons d. weak acids will be more non-ionized in acid solution e. weak bases are more ionized in a basic solution
What pt/drug characteristics effect Vd? Pts: Kidney function, liver function, metabolism, age Drugs: Vd= Dose/Cpp Lipid solubility, protein binding, molecular size
